  • List of accepted friends

We may collect basic usage analytics to improve our Service, including page views, feature usage, and general interaction patterns. This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to personally identify you.

FriendRoutes is designed with privacy as a core principle. We explicitly do NOT:

  • Track your real-time location. We never access your device's GPS or track your movements.
  • Monitor your location continuously. Your trip data is only what you manually enter.
  • Share your data with advertisers. We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes.
  • Create behavioral profiles. We don't build profiles based on your browsing habits.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Display your trips to your accepted friends
  • Detect trip overlaps and notify you of potential meetups
  • Process friend requests and manage your connections
  • Communicate with you about your account and the Service
  • Respond to your inquiries and support requests
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience (in aggregate)

5. Information Sharing and Visibility

5.1 Voluntary Sharing

FriendRoutes operates on a voluntary sharing model:

  • You choose what trips to add and share
  • You decide who to accept as friends
  • Your trips are only visible to friends you have accepted
  • You can remove trips or friends at any time

5.2 Third-Party Service Providers

We may share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as:

  • Cloud hosting and database services
  • Authentication services
  • Analytics services (aggregate data only)
  • Map and geocoding services (for location search)

5.3 Legal Requirements

  • Remove Friends: You can remove friend connections at any time.
  • Delete Account: You can request deletion of your entire account and associated data by contacting us.

  • Secure password hashing
  • Access controls and authentication
